CLASSES LKG to IV

STUDENTS’  ASSESSMENT

Student’s evaluation is an essential and integral part of any education system.  At Vikaasa School we assess students’ acquisition of the skills and achievement of learning outcomes in the following ways:

Formative assessment

Formative assessment, which takes place throughout the whole of the learning process

Formative assessment evaluates the student’s learning process.

  • It is a continuous, comprehensive evaluation taking into account the student’s progress during the academic year.
  • At Vhs we establishthree phases of assessment process: initial assessment, continuous assessment and final assessment.

Summative assessment

Summative assessment, aimed at assessing the level of knowledge in certain subjects, as well as of the skills acquired.

  • Individualized assessments to ascertain the mastery of skills and abilities in oral and written expression and comprehension, mathematical skills, and enquiry based scientific skills.

At the end of each semester a continuous comprehensive progress report is made available to the Parent.

CLASSES VI TO VII

EXAMS

  • 4 Assessment Tests within regular school hours in July, August, December & February (50 marks each).
  •  I Semester & II Semester Exams (100 Marks Each).

PROMOTION

  • On obtaining a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in each subject at the end of the year as per weightage  given  below.
Assessment Tests 40%
Semester Exams 60%

CLASS IX & XI

EXAMS

  • 4 Assessment Tests within regular school hours during July, August,   December & February (50 marks each).
  • I Semester & II Semester Exams (As per ICSE /ISC Pattern).
  • Projects and Practicals ( As per ICSE /ISC Pattern).

PROMOTION

  • On obtaining a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in each subject at the end of the year as per weightage  given  below.
